Circa 1868 - OOAK Dressed African American Vivian Sample Doll
This African American Vivian doll is dressed in a 16 piece period correct walking ensemble. Every piece has been researched and meticulously recreated with elaborate hand finished details. The fabric chosen for the main part of gown is a woven striped silk taffeta in persimmon, green, fuchsia, coral and ivory.
Main gown includes:
• Lined jacket and overskirt of woven stripe silk taffeta.
• Rose silk taffeta binds daggers on jacket and overskirt, sleeves and collar.
• Lined underskirt of ivory silk dupioni trimmed with bands of rose silk taffeta.
Victorian secret undergarments include:
• White cotton chemise, pantaloons and three tired ruffled lace petticoat.
• Powder blue boned corset.
• Three tired hoop skirt.
• Floor length ruffled crinoline train support.
Accessories include:
• White shadow stripe stockings.
• Black heal boots with coral ribbon and rhinestone trimming.
• Silk loop bonnet with chin strap and curled ostrich plumes.
• Faux suede short green gloves.
• Crystal necklace and earrings.
• Green silk draw string purse with crystal beaded fringe.
This Vivian doll, with original head sculpt (head #1) was hand pulled from the original master molds. Coiffured black braided up-do with curly bangs and long cascading ringlets. Hand painted neutral tone face with green eyes and hand applied eyelashes. Doll comes with adjustable Kaiser stand (not pictured) and packaged in decorative floral print box with fold over lid.
